Permissions need to be determined and assigned relating to temporary accounts, especially for CheckUser and IP reveal.
Draft technical specifications of IP reveal permissions:
- Administrators and bureaucrats shall have local access to temporary account IP reveal, as long as they check the preference.
- Checkusers and suppressors shall have local access to temporary account IP reveal without any need to check a preference (because they have already agreed to terms regarding access to nonpublic information).
- Global sysops shall have global access to temporary account IP reveal, as long as they check the preference.
- Stewards shall have global access to temporary account IP reveal without any need to check a preference (because they have already agreed to terms regarding access to nonpublic information).
- An additional local group shall be created for non-administrators to have access to IP reveal ("Temporary account IP viewers"). This group shall be assignable and revocable by Stewards only. It shall only be granted (1) to those who need it for staff-related or development reasons or (2) to those who have significant anti-abuse experience and have community consensus.
Draft technical specifications of IP reveal log access:
- Checkusers shall have local access.
- Stewards shall have global access.
